FAQs
Pricing and subscription
Below are some common questions about our pricing and subscription
Is there really no monthly subscription?
Really. No monthly fee, no annual renewal, no premium tier you need to unlock to see your own data. You pay once for Voltra and every single feature is yours forever from day one. No small print. No surprises.
How does Volt compare to WHOOP cost wise?
WHOOP charges up to £239 a year in subscription fees on top of the device cost. Voltra costs £39.99. Once. That's it. Over three years, switching to Volt saves you the equivalent of nearly £700 in subscription fees - for the same quality health data with no ongoing commitment.
Will you ever introduce a subscription?
No. The no-subscription model is fundamental to what Voltra is all about. We built Voltra specifically because we believed health data should belong to the person generating it - not sit behind a monthly paywall. That's not changing.
Voltra
Below are some common questions about Voltra products
What does Voltra actually track?
Voltra tracks sleep stages and sleep quality, HRV (heart rate variability), stress, blood pressure, blood oxygen, resting heart rate, steps, menstrual cycle, GPS for outdoor activities and more - all automatically, 24 hours a day, with no manual input required.
How accurate is the data?
Voltra uses the same optical sensor technology found in premium wearables. Our blood pressure readings have been independently compared against cuff readings with consistently closer than other wearables on the market. As with any wrist-worn tracker, accuracy is best achieved by wearing the band snugly and consistently - particularly overnight for sleep and HRV data.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 40 days on a single charge. You won't be taking Volt off to charge it every night like a smartwatch - most customers charge it once every few weeks and forget about it in between.
Is Voltra waterproof?
Yes. Voltra is IP68 rated which means it's fully waterproof. Wear it in the shower, the pool, the sea or the gym without any concern. You never need to take it off.
Does Voltra have a screen?
No. Voltra is screenless by design - all your data lives in the app rather than on your wrist. This means no distractions, no screen to crack and a significantly longer battery life than smartwatches. Your data is there every morning when you want it, not interrupting you when you don't.
What phones does Voltra work with?
Voltra is compatible with both iOS and Android. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play, pair your device via Bluetooth and you're set up within minutes.
Getting started
Below are some common questions about getting started
How long does setup take?
Most customers are set up and wearing their Voltra within ten minutes of opening the box. Download the app, pair the device, put it on and go.
The tracker starts collecting data immediately and your first sleep report will be ready the following morning.
How long before I start seeing useful data?
You'll get your first sleep report after night one. HRV and recovery data becomes more meaningful after about a week as Volt establishes your personal baseline.
Most users find the data will start feeling genuinely insightful within two weeks as patterns begin to emerge.
Can I wear Volt in bed?
Yes - and you should. Overnight wear is where Voltra does its most important work, tracking your sleep stages, HRV and blood oxygen while you sleep. The band is lightweight and comfortable enough that most users say they forget it's there within a few nights.
Returns and guarantee
Below are some common questions about returns and guarantee
What is your money back guarantee?
Every Voltra comes with a 30-day money back guarantee. Try it for a full month - wear it every day, check your data every morning, see what your body has been trying to tell you.
If after 30 days it doesn't exceed your expectations, contact us and we'll refund you. No questions asked, no lengthy process, no hard feelings.
How do I return my Voltra if I'm not happy?
Email us at customerservice@shopvolt.co within 30 days of receiving your order. We'll confirm the return address and once we receive the item back in its original condition we'll process your refund to your original payment method within 5-10 working days
What if my Volt is faulty?
If your Volt develops a fault, contact us immediately and we'll arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you including return postage. We stand behind our product completely.
Data and privacy
Below are some common questions about data and privacy
Who can see my health data?
Only you. Your health data is stored securely and is never sold to third parties, shared with advertisers or used for any purpose other than providing you with your own health insights. Your body generates this data - it belongs to you.
Does Voltra work without an internet connection?
Voltra collects data continuously whether or not your phone has an internet connection. Data syncs to the app via Bluetooth when your phone is nearby. You may need an internet connection for the initial app setup and for app updates but not for ongoing tracking.
Comparisons
How is Voltra different from a Fitbit or Apple Watch?
Fitbit and Apple Watch are general purpose devices that include fitness tracking as one of many features.
Voltra is purpose-built for health tracking - specifically sleep, HRV and recovery data - without the screen, notifications, apps or daily charging that comes with a smartwatch. It also costs a fraction of the price with no ongoing subscription.
Is Voltra as good as WHOOP?
Voltra tracks the same core metrics as WHOOP - sleep, HRV, stress, recovery, blood oxygen and more - at a fraction of the cost and without any monthly subscription.
WHOOP's software and coaching features are more developed but at £239 a year in subscription fees versus £0, most customers find Voltra's data more than sufficient for their needs.
Why should I choose Voltra over a smart ring?
Many smart rings, while very convenient, can not track sufficient metrics accurately with the data they can access. A ring form factor is more discreet, but Voltra offers GPS tracking, a broader range of metrics and significantly better value over time. If budget and data breadth and accuracy matter more than form factor, Voltra is the clear choice.
Miscellaneous
Is Voltra suitable for older people?
Absolutely. Voltra is used by people across of age groups. The app is designed to be clear and straightforward, setup is simple and the health metrics Voltra tracks - blood pressure, resting heart rate, sleep quality and stress - are often even more relevant for older users who want to keep a closer eye on their health between GP appointments.
Will Voltra replace my GP or doctor?
No - and we want to be clear about that. Voltra is a wellness and fitness tracking device, not a medical device. The data it provides is useful for understanding trends and making lifestyle decisions but it should never be used to diagnose or treat medical conditions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice.
How do I contact Volt if I have a question?
