Account & Profile
In this article
Your app account and your shop account are two separate things. The one you made at checkout on voltrahealth.com won't sign you into the Voltra Health app, and vice versa. If the app is telling you your details are wrong, that's usually why.
The Voltra Core uses the Voltra Health app.
Creating your account
- Download Voltra Health from the App Store or Play Store.
- Open it and choose Sign up.
- Enter your email address and set a password.
- Confirm your email if you're asked to. Check your junk folder if nothing arrives within a few minutes.
- Fill in your profile, then pair your Core.
Make the account before you try to pair. The app needs somewhere to put your readings, so pairing without an account doesn't work. Pairing itself is covered in Pairing your Voltra Core.
Your profile details
The app asks for your date of birth, sex and height. On a body composition scale these aren't background information - they're part of the calculation. The scale measures your weight and passes a small electrical signal through your body to measure resistance. Everything else you see, including body fat, muscle mass, water and visceral fat, is estimated from those two measurements combined with your profile.
So if your height is out by five centimetres, or your date of birth is wrong, every body composition figure will be out too. It's worth a minute to get them right.
Changing your details
Open the Mine tab > Member Management > Your User, change what you need and save.
Readings you've already taken aren't recalculated. The change applies from your next weigh-in, so you may see a small step in your body composition history on the day you corrected it. That's the correction, not a change in your body.
You don't need to update your weight yourself. The Core does that every time you stand on it.
Changing your email or password
Both live under Mine, then Account information. Changing your email doesn't affect your readings, and you'll sign in with the new address from then on.
Forgotten password
Tap Forgotten password on the sign-in screen and follow the email. If it doesn't arrive, check your junk folder, and check you're using the address you actually signed up with rather than the one you ordered with.
Signing in on a new phone
Install the app, sign in with the same email and password, and your history comes down from your account. Then pair the Core to the new phone.
Your readings live in your account rather than on the scale, so nothing is lost by changing phones. The scale itself holds very little - it's a measuring device, not a filing cabinet.
More than one person using the scale
A scale in a family bathroom gets stood on by everyone, and the Core is built for that. Each person needs their own profile so their readings are calculated against their own height, age and sex, and so nobody's weight ends up in somebody else's chart.
How to add people, and how the scale works out who has just stood on it, is covered in Multiple users on one scale.
Your data
Your readings sit on encrypted servers and belong to you. We don't sell them, we don't share them with advertisers, and we don't pass them to insurers or employers. There's no subscription because we make our money when you buy the device, not from your data.
Exporting your history from inside the app is something we're building, and it isn't there yet. In the meantime, email customerservice@voltrahealth.com from the address on your account and we'll send you a copy of everything we hold. You have a legal right to that, and we'll get it to you within a month.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and every record attached to it from Mine, then Account information, then Delete account.
Deletion is permanent. Your history goes and we can't get it back, so ask us for a copy first if you want to keep it.
The scale keeps working afterwards and will still show your weight on its display, but it has nowhere to send readings until you set up a new account and pair it again.
Trouble signing in
- Wrong app. Worth ruling out first. The Core uses Voltra Health.
- Wrong email. People sign up with a personal address and then try to sign in with the one they ordered with.
- Account already exists. If sign-up tells you the address is taken, you already have an account - use Forgotten password rather than making a second one.
- No internet. Signing in needs a connection, unlike weighing yourself, which doesn't.
- App out of date. Check the store for an update.
Still stuck
Email customerservice@voltrahealth.com with your order number and the email address you signed up with, and we'll sort it. Don't send us your password - we'll never ask for it, and we don't need it to help you.
